India’s automotive landscape is undergoing its most transformative phase since liberalisation — and at the centre of that transformation stands Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, one of India’s most admired, most innovative, and most diversified industrial conglomerates. From the iconic Thar that redefined what an aspirational SUV means to Indian youth, to the Scorpio-N that broke booking records within minutes of opening, to the all-electric BE 6 and XEV 9e that are positioning Mahindra as India’s most ambitious electric vehicle manufacturer — M&M’s automotive business is in the middle of the most exciting growth cycle in its seven-decade history. Mahindra & Mahindra Jobs 2026 — spanning both its world-class manufacturing plants and its rapidly expanding dealership network — represent career opportunities that combine financial reward, professional pride, and the daily satisfaction of contributing to a brand that millions of Indians genuinely love.
Mahindra & Mahindra’s automotive and farm equipment businesses collectively employ over 1,40,000 people directly — and millions more through its dealer, service, and supplier ecosystem. In 2026, M&M is simultaneously ramping up production at its Chakan, Nashik, and Zaheerabad plants to meet record order books, commissioning new EV-dedicated manufacturing facilities, expanding its SOUL EV platform assembly, and growing its retail network to reach deeper into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities where India’s SUV aspirations are growing fastest. This multi-front expansion makes 2026 an exceptionally active year for M&M recruitment across both factory and showroom tracks.
2. Why Mahindra & Mahindra is on a Historic Hiring Spree in 2026
Record Order Books and Production Ramp-Up: Mahindra’s SUV portfolio — Thar Roxx, Scorpio-N, XUV 700, XUV 400, BE 6, XEV 9e, and Bolero — is commanding waiting periods that stretch months across most variants. The Chakan plant (Pune) and Nashik plant are running at maximum capacity and adding shifts to clear order backlogs, directly creating workforce expansion at every production level.
Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Scale-Up: Mahindra’s INGLO electric platform — powering the BE 6 and XEV 9e — is being manufactured at a dedicated EV facility at Chakan. The EV manufacturing process requires new skills in battery assembly, high-voltage electrical systems, thermal management, and software-defined vehicle operations that traditional automotive manufacturing did not require — creating demand for both retrained existing staff and newly recruited specialists.
New Chakan Phase 2 Expansion: Mahindra is investing over ₹4,500 crore in expanding the Chakan plant’s capacity — adding new press shop, body shop, and assembly capacity specifically for EV and next-generation SUV production. Phase 2 commissioning in 2026 requires a complete fresh production workforce at every level.
Dealership Network Expansion: Mahindra’s retail network is expanding rapidly into smaller cities and towns to capture first-time SUV buyers in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets. New showroom openings — particularly in states like UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP, and Odisha — require local sales executives, service advisors, and workshop technicians who understand the regional customer.
RISE Philosophy Driving People Investment: Mahindra’s RISE philosophy — “Rise for Good” — is not merely a corporate slogan. M&M’s investment in employee development, skill building, and career progression is consistently rated among the top in Indian industry. This investment translates into structured training, clear promotion pathways, and compensation frameworks that attract and retain talent across all levels.

Stage 3: M&M product training (company-funded, 3–5 days) before customer-facing deployment.
Total Timeline: 1–3 weeks.
11. Interview Tips – Factory and Showroom
Factory Interview Preparation
EV Knowledge is Now Essential at Chakan: The Chakan plant’s integration of EV production means that even candidates applying for general assembly roles are expected to have basic EV awareness. Before your Chakan interview, learn: what a BMS (Battery Management System) does, why high-voltage isolation is critical before working on EV components, the difference between AC and DC charging, and what makes lithium-ion battery packs different from conventional automotive batteries. Even basic knowledge of these concepts differentiates you from candidates who treat the role as purely ICE assembly.
The Mahindra RISE Connection: Mahindra’s corporate culture is built around the RISE philosophy — challenge conventional thinking, drive positive change, and enable people and communities to rise. Connect your personal motivation to this philosophy in your interview. “I want to work at Mahindra because I believe the vehicles I help build will enable Indian families to rise — to explore more, to aspire more, and to live better lives” is a statement that genuinely resonates with Mahindra interviewers.
Key Factory Questions and Answers:
“What do you know about Mahindra’s manufacturing philosophy?” “Mahindra uses a lean manufacturing system based on eliminating waste and building quality at the source. The core principles include 5S for workplace organisation, Kaizen for continuous improvement, Andon for immediate problem escalation, and Poka-Yoke for error prevention. Mahindra’s RISE philosophy extends this into people development — every employee is expected to contribute improvement ideas, not just follow instructions.”
“Why do you want to work specifically at the EV assembly section?” “Electric vehicles are the future of Indian mobility and Mahindra is leading that transition. The EV assembly skills I develop at Chakan — battery pack assembly, high-voltage wiring, BMS integration — will be among the most valuable manufacturing skills in India for the next 20 years. I want to be trained on the most advanced technology in Indian automotive manufacturing at the best possible employer.”
“How would you handle an abnormal condition at your assembly station?” “I would immediately activate the Andon cord to alert the team leader, note the exact nature of the abnormal condition, and not allow the vehicle to proceed until the concern is resolved or cleared by the team leader. At an EV station specifically, any anomaly involving the high-voltage system would require immediate activation of the HV isolation protocol before any investigation. Production continuity never takes priority over safety or quality in my work approach.”
Showroom Sales Interview Preparation
Know the Mahindra EV Story: EV knowledge is now a genuine differentiator for Mahindra showroom sales roles. Before your interview, study: the BE 6 and XEV 9e range and charging specifications, the INGLO platform’s key features, the Adrenox connected car ecosystem, FAME III subsidy applicable to Mahindra EVs, and the key objections EV buyers raise (range anxiety, charging infrastructure, battery life) and how Mahindra addresses each. Demonstrating this knowledge immediately signals that you are the EV-ready sales professional modern Mahindra dealerships need.
The Adventure and Aspiration Angle: Mahindra’s brand is built on adventure, capability, and authentic Indian aspiration. When asked why you want to sell Mahindra, connect to this brand identity: “Mahindra makes vehicles for people who want more from life — more capability, more adventure, more technology. Selling Mahindra means helping customers make a purchase that genuinely reflects who they are and who they want to become. That kind of selling is meaningful.”
Key Showroom Questions and Answers:
“How would you explain the BE 6’s electric range to a sceptical customer?” “I would acknowledge their range concern genuinely rather than dismissing it. Then I would walk them through the reality — the BE 6 offers 535km of ARAI-certified range, which covers most weekly driving needs multiple times over. I would explain that 90% of Indian car owners drive less than 60km per day — meaning a full charge covers a week of normal urban driving. I would show them the fast charging capability — 175kW DC fast charging that adds 200km of range in under 20 minutes. And I would invite them to download the charging network map to see just how complete the fast charging infrastructure near their home and route is in 2026.”
“A customer loves the Thar Roxx but is worried about fuel economy. What do you say?” “I would first validate their concern — fuel economy matters. Then I would share the facts: the Thar Roxx petrol achieves approximately 15km/litre on the highway, and the diesel is even better. I would put that in context of the ownership experience — the Thar Roxx is a vehicle that you buy because it delivers capability, style, and an experience that no other vehicle in its price range matches. I would then ask: how many days a year do you actually drive long highway distances versus enjoying the city and weekend adventures where the Thar Roxx completely transforms your experience? The conversation usually shifts from fuel economy to everything the Thar Roxx makes possible.”
Red Flags to Avoid — Both Tracks: Arriving with poor grooming for showroom roles. Knowing nothing about Mahindra’s current vehicle range. Appearing uninformed about EVs for Chakan factory or dealership roles in 2026. Expressing reluctance toward shift work for plant roles. Making salary the dominant interview theme before receiving an offer.
12. Employee Reviews – What Mahindra Workers Say
M&M Chakan Factory Workers | Rating: 4.1/5
Chakan plant employees give consistently high satisfaction ratings driven by several distinctive factors. The EV production ramp-up has created genuine excitement and a sense of being part of history — workers in the BE 6 and XEV 9e battery assembly section describe a pride in their work that ICE assembly alone does not generate. M&M’s RISE-aligned management culture — where improvement suggestions are genuinely valued, safety is authentically prioritised over production, and internal promotion is transparently merit-based — is praised as qualitatively different from many Indian manufacturing employers. The Chakan location in Pune’s industrial ecosystem offers good quality of life, accessible housing, and strong social infrastructure. Common concerns include the intense production pace during order clearance pushes, and base salaries that some experienced workers feel should rise faster.
Typical comment: “I have worked at three automotive plants in Pune — Tata, Bajaj, and now Mahindra Chakan. Mahindra is the best of the three in every dimension that matters to a production worker. The safety culture is real, the improvement culture is real, the EV skills opportunity is real. I earn ₹44,000 as a four-year senior associate and my Kaizen record has been mentioned in my last two appraisals. I am staying here.”
Mahindra Showroom Sales Consultant | Rating: 3.9/5
Mahindra dealership sales staff highlight the extraordinary product enthusiasm that Mahindra vehicles generate among Indian consumers — particularly the Thar Roxx, Scorpio-N, and XUV 700 — that makes sales conversations genuinely enjoyable rather than pressured. The EV product range adds a technology dimension to selling that sales consultants find intellectually engaging. The incentive earning potential during new model launches and festival seasons is described as genuinely exceptional. Common concerns include the high target pressure during booking clearance periods and variation in management quality across different dealer groups.
Typical comment: “Selling the BE 6 is unlike anything I have sold before. Customers come in with genuine excitement — they have watched the launch video, they have read the reviews, they want to understand the technology. My job is to be the trusted guide who converts that excitement into a confident purchase decision. Last month I sold 8 BE 6 bookings — my incentive was ₹32,000 on top of my base. Mahindra EVs are making me one of the best-earning sales consultants in my city.”
M&M Nashik Plant Workers | Rating: 3.8/5
Nashik plant employees highlight the strong local community connection — many workers are from Nashik and the surrounding region, creating a factory culture that feels like an extended family — the stable employment that the Bolero and Pickup’s consistent rural demand provides, and Mahindra’s genuine commitment to worker welfare in the MIDC Satpur township area. Common concerns include somewhat lower pace of technology advancement compared to Chakan, and base salaries that trail the Chakan premium location.

14. FAQs
Q: What is the difference between M&M direct factory employment and dealership employment? A: Direct M&M factory employees are employed by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited — with M&M’s full benefit package, skill grading system, and internal promotion structure. Dealership employees are employed by independent dealer companies — HR quality varies by dealer group. The largest dealer groups (Rudra Auto, Trident Auto, Popular Vehicles) have structured HR comparable to corporate standards. Smaller single-outlet dealers offer simpler employment terms.
Q: Is EV knowledge mandatory for Chakan plant roles in 2026? A: Not mandatory for all roles, but strongly advantageous. Chakan’s production associate selection process now includes basic EV awareness questions. Candidates who demonstrate understanding of high-voltage safety, battery assembly basics, and Mahindra’s EV product range are preferred over equally qualified candidates with no EV awareness.
Q: What is the MIAP certification and why does it matter for service technicians? A: MIAP (Mahindra Integrated Apprenticeship Programme) is M&M’s own technician certification — widely recognised across all Mahindra authorised service centres as a standard of competence. MIAP-certified technicians receive higher starting grades and salary at Mahindra workshops. ITI graduates can pursue MIAP certification through the apprenticeship route at any Mahindra authorised service centre.
Q: What are the shift timings at Chakan plant in 2026? A: Chakan currently operates three shifts — General Shift (8 AM–4:30 PM), Second Shift (4:30 PM–1 AM), and Night Shift (1 AM–8 AM). With the EV production ramp-up, weekend overtime shifts are also common in 2026. Shift rotation is on a fortnightly basis for most production associates.
Q: Can I transition from showroom sales to M&M corporate roles? A: Directly transitioning from dealership employment to M&M corporate roles requires separate application through mahindra.com/careers. However, strong showroom performance creates valuable skills and automotive market knowledge that makes a candidate competitive for M&M marketing, dealer development, and sales training corporate roles. Several M&M regional marketing executives have dealership backgrounds.
Q: Does Mahindra provide specific EV safety training to production associates at Chakan? A: Yes — it is mandatory. All production associates assigned to EV battery assembly, high-voltage wiring, or EV powertrain sections complete a dedicated 1-day EV safety induction covering high-voltage hazard awareness, correct HV PPE usage, emergency isolation procedures, and what to do in case of a battery thermal event. This training is provided before the first deployment on the EV production floor and is renewed annually.
